Supply Teaching Agencies in Louth

Posted on March 31, 2015 at 7:34 pm

Good supply teaching agencies in Louth would be able to work on behalf of both the teacher applicant and the school. All potential applicants are fully vetted when registering with the agency. This is essential for the peace of mind of both the parents and the school. Good agencies conduct interviews face to face with teachers that register with them.

This is considered an essential practice so that the applicant can be accurately matched with the school. Schools and teachers are both assigned an on hand individual consultant to make the entire selection and recruitment process easier to deal with. The teacher supply company deals with all the effort necessary for finding good teachers that can fill a vacancy, which makes teacher recruitment for a school in Louth much easier. Supply teaching and cover supervisors – what are the differences?

Posted on March 18, 2015 at 2:45 pm

Supply teachers have always been the go-to force to stand in when teachers are either absent or unable to teach their usual classes. Being called in either on the day, or the day before, supply teachers are fully qualified members of staff who are able and willing to cover any lessons. Often, supply teachers are brought into schools when a staff member is due to be off for a substantial period of time.

Cover supervisors, on the other hand, are a relatively new position in schools. Since the government changed their agendas, schools have found it is usually a lot cheaper to employ full time Cover supervisors, rather than hiring supply teachers. Cover supervisors again, cover any lessons in school. They do not have to plan lessons, more they deliver work which has been prepared by teachers already. Cover supervisors are sometimes used as additional support, seeing as they are employed directly by schools.

NQTs – how should you prepare for interview lessons?

Posted on February 28, 2015 at 5:37 pm

Applying for any teaching job generally involves teaching a sample lesson, alongside the actual interview. This can be a daunting process, but here are some tips to help you prepare rather than panic!

1. Find out what is expected of you – this could be a detailed breakdown of the subject content to cover (particularly for a secondary school), or it could be a short description of what you need to do. This is to test your initiative, so do ask questions!

2. Who are you going to be teaching – try to find out the number of students in the class, and if possible if there are any SEND, EAL or G&T learners to provide for. Again this checks your initiative!

3. Make sure you provide your own resources! It is totally unfair to expect the school to provide a class set of any resources you want to use, especially if you are teaching a specialist topic such as art or design. Bring your own so as not to cause a fuss on the day.

If in doubt, relax and enjoy it – the class needs to see that you enjoy yourself and that you love teaching!

Building a Network on LinkedIn

Posted on September 11, 2014 at 4:21 pm

To give yourself every chance of gaining a job, you have to make sure people are aware of you and your skills. LinkedIn is the perfect platform to build a network of contacts, and you should pick out people who may one day be interested in you, possibly in the future.

Even if you’re in a job and you’re happy, make sure you’re updating your job descriptions, adding projects and building contacts because it shows that you’re achieving on a regular basis. The more people see of you, the more you’ll stay in their mind, and many job positions have been filled using LinkedIn.

Always ask your co-workers to give you skill endorsement and do the same for them in return. You’re LinkedIn profile can work similarly to a CV but it’s digital and it needs constant updating.

Perfecting your Cover Letter

Posted on July 31, 2014 at 6:35 pm

A cover letter is more than just an add-on to your CV in an email or in the post. It’s your opportunity to tell the employer why your perfect for their rule, meaning you shouldn’t just repeat things from your CV.

A cover letter can persuade the employer to take a good long look at your CV, and it should always be written grammatically correct, without any spelling errors. You may want to do a little research and tell them what you’d hope to bring to the role to improve their business, while you may wan tto tell them information about some projects you recently worked on.

You have to remember that an employer, who’s currently advertising for a position, will have to flick through tens or hundreds of job applications, and you have to grab their attention. Make sure you put in the time and effort to perfect your cover letter; you may then give yourself a much better chance of success.

Recruitment for Education Jobs

Posted on March 23, 2014 at 10:53 am

There are two main factors that can totally affect the destiny of many UK children and the type of job they intent to get in future after school: the way they get the education and to whom it is administered. This is because going to school is very important in every child’s future life. Due to this fact, education recruitment is very important and extremely special field. There is an acute shortage of adequately qualified and trained teachers in the United Kingdom. The UK government has spent has spent a lot of money and resources in professional teacher recruitment and their development.

Two loyalties come with education recruitment. The first one is focused on school or college and the second one is focused on the teacher. In UK, people who were teachers at some point in their life manage many recruitment agencies. This has put them at a better place to carry out the recruitment process of people who end up being teachers in UK schools. The colleges or schools normally inform these agencies whenever they have a vacant teacher position that need to be filled. If that given area lacks a specialist teacher, then the recruiting agency may suggest to the school to start with the available supply teacher until the specialist teacher is found. Once the agencies get the teachers consent, their resumes are given to the colleges and schools that require them.

Education recruitment agencies in the United Kingdom are a big business. A good number of permanent teaching posts are currently being done by the supply teachers since teaching has evolved to become a highly recognised career where burnout is very common. Many teacher recruitment agencies in the UK have a database of teachers that contain information such as their geographical location, their skill, expertise, level of experience, and many more. Shortages and staffing needs in many areas is mainly addressed by the teacher recruitment. A good example is when a given area has a shortage of chemistry or physics education specialist in London and Maths, Religious education, or English specialist in Manchester.

Shortage of teachers in the United Kingdom is a very crucial matter to an extent that even the classroom deputies are currently being used as teachers. This has made the UK government to prioritise on the education recruitment to an extent that it has launched graduate teachers plan to address this shortage. This program is made to work in a way that it compensates the teachers when they are undergoing training when attached to a given school. Many of the teachers will remain in supply teaching for some months until an appropriate position comes along. Newly graduated teachers in the UK are assured of a starting salary even before formal employment but this still has failed to totally address shortage of high school teachers who are specialists in a given subject. A good number of teachers in UK apply for oversees teaching jobs. These foreign positions are found in agencies, newspapers, and recruitment exhibitions.

Finding the Job your Looking for

Posted on February 21, 2014 at 4:09 pm

Finding the job that you can be totally satisfied by is very difficult, and will probably take a long time. For most people, they need to treat every job they have before then as an opportunity to improve their personal presentation, so that when a great opportunity comes by they won’t be over looked because they aren’t capable or impressive. Being able to impress people when you need to is the most important ability for anybody who is determined to get what they want in life. This doesn’t mean that you should be abusive, or a ‘shark’. Showing that you are able to work well with other people is a basic skill required in almost every job. If you show that you can only sap the motivation of others, and just generally be a poor team player, then the likelihood that you will get what you want from life will depend entirely upon your ability to do your job. But most jobs require some level of interaction with people who need to see you as a team member, and not being able to work with them is a death sentence.

Adapting your CV for the Job you Desire

Posted on January 27, 2014 at 8:25 am

A CV doesn’t just have to be a stationary page that only changes when you get a new job or a new qualification; it can actually be tweaked and adapted for the positions you’re going for. One CV is not going to be entirely relevant for one specific job, and if you take this into account you could end up increasing your prospects.

Occasionally there are countless CVs handed in for one available job position, and the closer your CV is to that position the better. You may find that the job you are applying for has a list of skills required. If those skills are not mentioned in your CV then it’s likely that you will not make the cut for an interview.

This is why you should consider adapting your CV for the specific job you are applying for. It’s something experienced individuals will do when they apply for a job, but remember you do not necessarily have to rewrite your CV, you can merely make the changes that are required and nothing more. Happy Job hunting!
