To give yourself every chance of gaining a job, you have to make sure people are aware of you and your skills. LinkedIn is the perfect platform to build a network of contacts, and you should pick out people who may one day be interested in you, possibly in the future.
Even if you’re in a job and you’re happy, make sure you’re updating your job descriptions, adding projects and building contacts because it shows that you’re achieving on a regular basis. The more people see of you, the more you’ll stay in their mind, and many job positions have been filled using LinkedIn.
Always ask your co-workers to give you skill endorsement and do the same for them in return. You’re LinkedIn profile can work similarly to a CV but it’s digital and it needs constant updating.
